Adsense is tool produced by Google that places ads on your website based on what your website is about. Adsense does this by finding all of the keywords that are used in the content on you site, and from there, relevant ads are generated and placed in prominent locations on your site. For every click that the ads get, you receive a small amount of revenue; if you get enough clicks then you can actually make a pretty good income just from Adsense.

Adsense is a great method of monetizing your website, but it is not the only one. While a lot of the ads that you see on websites that you visit are produced from Adsense, some of the ads are also probably from affiliate programs. As mentioned above, you can make money selling other people’s products, and this is usually through a process known as affiliate marketing. You sign up for a website’s affiliate program in which you will receive a banner or text link that can be placed in relevant locations on your web pages. Visitors to your site may see these links or banners and click on them because they are interested in the product or service being advertised. When they click on the link, they will be redirected to the affiliate program’s website and if they end up purchasing a product, service or whatever, you will receive a portion of the sale.
